“What if every single stumble, every challenge, every experience in our life was only intended for one purpose: to bring us back to our origin? What if every win, every loss, every beauty, every fall, every cruelty, and every smile was only intended to unveil another barrier between us and God? Between us and where we began, and where we are desperately seeking to return?
What if everything was only about seeing Him?”
—Yasmin Mogahed
Today while waiting in line at the bookstore, I saw a woman on the street who was asking for money; something we’ve all seen before. There was a guy in the car who was on the lane to go straight and pass her. He went ahead, made a U-Turn, drove 2 lights down until he could make another U Turn and drove into the parkway she was standing in. He got in the line that was turning her direction. He reached her finally and gave her what he had in his pockets. Subhan’Allah it’s beyond beautiful and uplifting to see someone going out of their way(literally) to commit good.. Be conscious, slow down and find beauty in the fast-paced, busy world you live in. Don’t just wander through this world withdrawn from what’s happening. Absorb every little thing around you and you will be much happier and healthier.
Watch this and get educated on the role the Media plays in the Israeli/Palestinian conflict and actually anything else they don’t want us to know: LEARN the context, learn the history.
“Israel is really fighting a war on 2 fronts the 1st is a military campaign waged in the occupied territory against the Palestinian people. The 2nd is a PR campaign being waged HERE in the U.S through the American media to insure continued support for Israel’s occupation..Israel is also involved in an attempt to ideologically occupy the American media.” - Prof. Robert Jensen
“When Israelis in the occupied territories now claim that they have to defend themselves, they are defending themselves in the sense that any military occupier has to defend itself against the population they are crushing… You can’t defend yourself when you’re militarily occupying someone else’s land. That’s not defense. Call it what you like, it’s not defense. ” - Noam Chomsky
“A typical TV news report will show dramatic pictures of confrontations where Palestinians are confronting Israeli troops and the Israeli troops are responding. For most Americans who don’t understand the history of the conflict, this is an example of riots where the authorities are taking measures to crackdown. Whats not mentioned is the fact that these confrontations are taking place on occupied territory and the Israeli troops there are defending an occupation that doesn’t have any international legitimacy, it’s illegal ” -Seth Ackerman
The lack of context is so dramatic that only 4% of network news reports on the occupied West Bank & Gaza strip mentioned that the West Bank and Gaza strip are occupied. ” - Peace, Propaganda and The Promised Land
CNN sent out a memorandum to it’s staff in the Middle East, ‘In future Gilo will be referred to as a Jewish neighborhood ..we don’t refer to it as a settlement.” -Peace, Propaganda and The Promised Land
“There’s a great deal of difference between a colony and a neighborhood. An Israeli settlement is built for Jews and Jews only on Arab land and it’s illegal. A neighborhood is just a nice friendly place. By pressuring journalists into changing the use of words, by linguistically changing the narrative story, not only are the journalists kept in line but it also successfully takes away from one side of the dispute(Palestinians, the reasons why they act the way that they do).”-Peace, Propaganda and The Promised Land
“In contrast to British coverage, In American news coverage the settlements are downplayed. And questions regarding their legality are rarely raised. In fact there are times where they are flat out legitimatized and defended.”-Peace, Propaganda and The Promsied Land
“The Israeli military sends it’s troops to the occupied territory to defend what’s considered an illegal occupation. And when the population there resists, Israel is presented as being under attack.” -Seth Ackerman(Fairness and Accuracy Reporting)
“Once we know the occupation is illegal & we know that it is subject to international condemnation & its very costly in terms of lives and money, then we have to ask why Israel continues to maintain the occupation and the reason is because Israel intends to annex the territories eventually.” -Prof. Karen Pfeifer
